When I first received my Explorer and turned it on I was a little over whelmed by the tones. I took this machine right away into my front yard were I had found 128 wheaties, 2 silver quarters. About ten minutes into this first time with the Ex I found number 129 wheatie. 8 more wheaties were found before it got dark all around the 8-inch mark and strong signals (Quick Start Setting). The next time I detected in my yard I found a 56 Rosie 3 feet away from the water meter, which was also 8 inches deep. I knew at that point this detector was a keeper. Just my opinion on this but I think most people that have major problems with the Ex just don
