Re-sizing for posting on forums

When you re-size pics to post on the various forums, do you re-save them in a special folder and then retrieve them to post? Excuse my ignorance, I'm a little dense about this as you can see.

I save the originals as I take them and then edit and resize them physicaly and digitaly and do a save as. I put them in a seperate folder and post them. That is all I do with them and that way I still have all the infomation in the originals. If you leave them as jpg you lose a little quality with every change. I change them to tif or bit or the photoshop pdf. I make my changes and then save them for the web as jpg.
Works for me <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
