Re: Need some thoughts from some expirenced whites detector users

ZLT? is that a new whites detector?

[size=large]if your talking XLT then the only coils i know for sure are the std. 950 concentric, the 5.3 concentric( a must have ) and a 4" dd coil which is about useless. i think there is a larger SEF coil but not sure. those are the only ones i know of. one of the old complaints about the XLT was/ is the lack of coils. now that whites has discontinued the XLT i doubt anyone will make a new series coil for it. some weird coils are out there also. i think there maybe a big foot or hotshot coils. not new. they were before my time. the XLT has been around since 94'.

I have the M6 Kellyco list the same coils for it. Some day I will buy the smaller double D coil for depth. . I owned a Eagle ll back in 1985 and miss it greatly. I found barber dimes V nickles indian heads at 10 inches deep. So far I am only finding coins at 7 inches deep I did get one wheat penny at 10 inches deep but was only a wheat penny I think got reburried from some construction in a park of a walkway. I think the key may be to search places that have been hit a lot removing all the junk from the ground. Or sites that don't have much junk in the ground. Like woods and fields.I watch videos on You Tube and they don't find any greater depth with the big coils on old coins than I get with the stock coil. I owned the little coil with the Eagle ll and found if I used the stock coil slowly I did just as good in trashy areas. I been detecting since 1973.

The M6 does NOT use the same coils as the XLT. Coils for the XLT include: BM950, Royal 800, Blue Max and Black Max 800, Bullseye 5.3, BM600, BM350 (Snooper), 4x6 Shooter DD, GoldFoot, BigFoot, HotShot, 6" Eliminator.

I have had the Whites M6 for about 4 years, and I can not find any silver coins...I don't know what I am doing wrong, because I have been many places where old coins should be...I have found tons of pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters...old cap pistols, jewelry, door knobs, buttons, walking stick handles, etc....but no silver...Thinking about changing to a mine lab....any feed back will be appreciated....thanks

[size=large]sounds like you're just not in an area where silver is. if it's there you'd find it. you're finding everthing else. how about nickels?
if you go with minelab, i wouldn't settle for anything less than the EXPLORER SE PRO.

If you're finding all those other things, then you just haven't swung your coil over a silver coin yet. A Minelab won't change that.
