RE: CZ-3D QUICK TEST

Our units are certainly not acting anywhere the same. I know Tom Dankowski would know what is going on, but since his web site is down haven't been able to communicate with him. My unit came from the old Fisher plant as it had a lifetime warranty with it. I had seen from some previous posts that there were some units not calibrated properly. If not for info on sites like these I would never have known there could be problems like that, When we pay good money for a detector we assume things are right. I am going to figure out somehow to make sure mine is right and if not get it corrected. Let me know what you find out about your unit.

The dealer that shipped my 3-d forgot to put manual in and warranty card. I was going off of Tom D's quick checks to see if unit was calibrated right. He said it should have certain results by doing certain tests and air testing several nickels that had not seen dirt was part of test. When I tried my sunray 12.5 coil I did not duplicate results of 8in stock coil so I don't know what is going on.

I must admit I am a little miffed at why all the machines from First Texas are not tested for the same tolerance..I know there is a -5 to +5 factor
in just about all electronic parts manufactured..But come on how can thses machines get past quality control the way some are????
It just does not seem right !!! Why the big difference ????

Elton,
It seems now that the motto changed to "Quantity not Quality"
This is probably why Thomas D. prefers the older CZ-3D to the newer ones. Hopefully the problems are just some internal pots that can be adjusted, and not inferior components. At least they aren't made in China.

The dealer told me it was in a side flap of the box. It was in there but I would have never have known that flap was there if he had not of told me. I knew if he did forget it was not intentional.

Thanks
Brad
