I don't understand some of the 3d's are not the same when air testing, You don't find coins in the air but air testing should be the same. I have had my 3d for over a year and I checked the one I have with over 50 nicks new and old buffs, liberty. In both modes disc 0 all nicks read nick high tone, 8in coil or 5in coil.??????????HH BILL-NC.

Hi Bill

Your results sure differ from mine as 98% of my nickels registered as round pull tab in enhanced mode...all as nickel in salt mode. Did you try air test on dime. My 8 inch coil would only read it air testing at 9.5 inches instead of 11.25 inches at where it should read according to NASA Tom. Also my sound at that range was a little elongated and not as short and crisp at closer range.
