there is script on the sword that says, Epluribus Unum on one side and US on the other. It's 40" long and has a lot of engraving on the both sides the scabbard has two brass rings. Any one have any info on this sword let me know. Thanks in advance....HH.

Your pics are too dark to get a good look at any details but at first glance I would say reproduction. However, look at the hilt (where the blade goes into the handle). Tell me if you can read any stamped words or dates. The style would be for a Field Officer. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
