[attachment 29678 beachcloseup2.jpg]This is my favorite beach.... Look how calm this water is.... This was taken from the fishing boat as we headed out to the bay to fish for Striped Bass, Blues, and Flukes.... yummy.... I caught one 31" Blue and one 18 1/2" Fluke... Enjoy and God bless.

What a fight...

History Buffs... Who can tell me how many ships sunk in the LOng Island Sound from the early 1600's to the turn of the century? Include storm wreaks, war sinkings, and plain dumb navigation... Hint... There are over 200 serious areas with reefs and rocks from the East River to BridgePort Conn... Whomever can tell me, I'll include a gift...

Sara, my wife with her catch... she was so excited. That's the first mate standing next to her... Now he's a real fisherman and helps the chartered guest with baiting, fetching the catch, and any other chores aroung the ship.

and a great day!

Looks like a great time you guys had! Congrats on the fish!
the best I could do on the research on the shipwrecks.
I read where it said there could be thousands, but I think that was an area that was far bigger than the sound. Another said 500, and one more said this!

Over 400 shipwrecks have been documented, from the Prins Maurits in May of 1657 to the wreck of
the Gwendoline Steers in December 30th, 1962.
