RC13 (OOR) Coil Is FANTASTIC on Racer 2!

Mine arrived yesterday, so went straight up the woods, few recent coins, 1/2 penny x 1 and couple 1 old coin that was in absolutely super hard earth 8-9 inches down....was a 1914 half-penny.

When this coil arrived, I laughed, as it looks completely ridiculously small when it's attached......but performed WAY better than I expected!!:super:

Not exactly a huge detailed forensic analysis here, I know.....all I can say is that if you are thinking of getting one - DO IT!

I used 2-tone with gain at 80.

MORE than Impressed:yo:

Agreed!!

That little coil is an UNBELIEVABLE sniper. It's a "must have" for the Racer 2.

I have the 5" that came with my r2 pro pack and wanted the OOR but Monte had posted that the performance of the r2 5" and the r1 OOR is equal.
I still have a voice telling me to buy it though....
Thanks for the info!!

Maybe I said they was about equal or close to equal or nearly the same

I know I do often mention that while their performance is probably "too close to call" by most detector users, there is a certain 'psychology' involved in picking between them that enters into the decision process. The best solution might be to own BOTH the 4.7X5.2 'OOR' DD coil AND the 5½" round DD coil. That's what I do, and from time-to-time I swap the lower rod and coil for the other.

At first, going back about a year when I got the FORS Gold + with a 5½" coil, I was kind of leaning towards liking the 'OOR' coil on the FORS CoRe and Racer more, but I had been using them all year long and admired their appearance and performance. So I worked the CoRe and Gold + together for a while, switching the coil size used, and liked them both. Then came the Gold Racer w/5½" DD, and in January the Racer 2 and soon-to-be FORS Relic with their 5½" DD coils, and I started using the 5½" DD coils more with the exception of the Racer 2. That model has BOTH the 'OOR' and 5½" DD coils available, so as I mentioned I own and use both.

I was using the 'OOR' on my Racer 2 last week in a trashier location where I found the older pennies and the Walking Liberty half and Roosevelt dime for a two silver coin day. I am headed to the same site in the next half hour, but this time the 5½" DD is mounted and ready-to-go as I will be working the racer 2, Relic and CoRe while enjoying a warmer day break when we might hit 50°. Just put an 'OOR' coil and lower rod on your Christmas Wish List and go shopping for yourself. :clapping:

Love the OOR coil, but psychologically it's so daunting when attached to the detector....looks like I'm getting ready to paint a 747 with a Q-tip

It does, however, bring home the goods!
