I read how you were having a hard time finding Mike from MI post.
Jamie(MI) is from your neck of the woods I think. A good handheld pinpointer makes life much easier to find items when you're digging them. Wouldn't leave home without mine. I need to replace the battery in mine and had a hard time finding things this morning. Had to go back to the old "ok is it in this handful of dirt" as I passed the hand of dirt under the coil - "nope not in this one - maybe this handful". That process takes a lot of time where a 'working' pinpointer saves a lot of time - and patience. Not saying my pinpointer is best but I use a Merlin pinpointer.
In sand a nice sand scoop comes in handy for retrieving items.
Rats, I have to get dressed for work. Have to leave in the next 15 minutes.
Congrats on find the penny. Even your first coin is a reminder that if there is a first there is a second and on and on. There is always more and more being dropped faster than we can find the stuff.
