hello,
i hope to bring my soverign xs-2 to a gold mine river, where many pieces of gold have been found. would my metal detector pick up
small bits of gold or would i need to pan?and if so, what size would be the smallest.
thanks for all the help,
john

The Soverine wiil find gold! BUT! only bigger stuff. You really need a machine that is made for gold hunting, the soverine is more a jewlery and relic machine, although it will find nuggets say a penny weight and bigger. The draw back is it does not have a ground balance on it, its pretty much factory set. So Gold is mostly in bad ground. So you need a gold detector you can ajust to the ground conditions. Like a Minelab 2200 or higher. or even a 2100 if you can still find them, they are manual ground balance, the 2200sd and higher are auto ground balance. Grubstake
