hello,
i hope to bring my soverign xs-2 to a gold mine river, where many pieces of gold have been found. would my metal detector pick up
small bits of gold or would i need to pan?and if so, what size would be the smallest.
thanks for all the help,
john

Take a pan and a sluice box if you have one, then you will have something to increase your odds of finding some color. HH John

if you wanted to try your machine dont use the factory coils get a small 3-4 inch coil they pick up smaller items and are more sensitive to smaller pieces of gold and still that may not get the job done but it cant hurt to try it may pick up a small nuggett but what your most likely gonna find is flake gold so take your pan just incase you dont have anyluck a all with the machine

thanks everyone for the advice,
could any one give me good advice on buying/making a good quality sluice box and pan?
thanks
john
