Rate the Excal 1000 as a land detector

I have only one metal detector, the Excal 1000. I use it mostly on fresh water beaches, great lakes, inland lakes and streams. I am wondering how it compares with other high tech detectors on land away from sand and water? Can one detector serve as an all-purpose machine and give high quality results?
Thanks I'm still learning this hobby.

It's actually a waterproof Sovereign. If you can stand the out of water weight, then your in great shape. I've used my Excal many a time on land! keep us posted on your finds! Best of luck to you!
