No silver this time , just some broken farm parts and a brocken wrench i coud see the farmer prying hard on the rusty bolt when suddenly the wrench snapped he bloodied his hand and cused the tractor and threw the wrench COT DARN JUNKER, the days we dont find silver makes the days we do better thank God for the dry times lest i become proud and spoiled

looks like you have a lot of ground to cover there .......I 2nd the mosquito mask........ i visited in-laws in MN, and got ate alive from those besky things

Wow Gunnar you have some prime hunting there. I didn't realize the skeeters were that bad in MN. Looks like you are well prepared for the hunt though. Keep at it, I feel that the 1905 Barber was only the beginning. That coin was a tease just to give you an idea of what is there. Like I stated in another post, there may not be a whole lot in quantity of coins, but the ones you do find will be of quality. Thanks for sharing and happy treasure hunting!

That's the way I feel about hunting the woods. The quantity is lower but the qaulity of coins is better.

Thanks again for the encoragement potluck , and it will be just as you say , yes and the mosquitoes are very badd so badd that i have to weare gloves , long slev jacket long underware and pants and any exposed part of you they will find , and the weeds are growning fast

I guess I have to dress like gunnar and hit the old cellar holes in my area. I sweat my brains out as it is... I would really like to go back to where I found that large cent...never mind the ticks, but I would be "slain" in a matter of minutes by those needle bearing skeeters.

Today, 6-16-11, I went to check out an area in a well known park near my home. Besides the murderous mayhem between me and those skeeters, I discovered an old set of stone stairs that led up into the woods. The stairs were created when they built the 103-acre park in 1914. Then as I came back down and around on another trail, I see the old stone supports for a bench near the brook that runs through the property. hmmm Time to examine this place too.

lets see what that SOV GT can find in that spot . got to be somthing thear thear was a guy who got a good signal and dug down only to find a pop can he dug it out and it was full of probe marks, after he removed the can he kept getting a good signal it was a 10.00 roll of siver quarters somtimes things hide behind trash and i can remeber in the spring i went to a beach and it was hunted out befor winter came but i found a nice silver ring i was not using disq and just dug it the cool thing was thear was two rings and the junk one was laying right on top of the good one so every one though it was a junk signal ha ha somtimes victory does not come to the strong -and somtimes the early bird misses the worm L.O.L

Being you mentioned a roll of quarters got me thinking of something that may shock you is to get a full roll of quarters and swing them over the coil in disc and see what you get. If you try it let us know what you get for a reading, I was shocked when I tried it.
