Rare Feb. Hunt!!

Even in Cincinnati the ground freezes in February. Last it warmed up to the 60's and rained for 3 days in a row. The ground had been frozen solid to that point. It was 40 out today so I thought I'd take a chance. The ground had thawed but was plenty wet.I hit a local soccer field for a couple hours. Was hoping for some jewelry; but all I got was clad. It was still nice to be out though.HH

You are lucky. We also went from frozen ground here in n/e PA and it turns into "Sink up to your neck" MUD ! Glad to hear that you found stable footing to detect and not require a John Deere to pull you out of the Mud LOL. I moved here from the Chaparral of southern calif where detecting is a year round thing (but i rode harley-davidsons then) LOL. I should have gotten an MXT then and went nugget hunting instead.....:detecting:

Good haul.
I went out too as the temps got better here (but frozen solid today!!!)
and picked up some clad and a couple junk rings The most interesting piece
was a miniture dagger that must have got ripped of someones jacket.
