Rare Excalibur Potentiometer's

Well-known member
Fits like a glove but needs an adaptor for the shaft, short by 6mm..and still needs testing as far as function. This week..........

Got this from my Tech Guru, OT Lewis..
I followed the link and looked at this pot, and the specs look great. Also it is a conductive plastic technology and those are actually superior to the carbon track type that are in the board.
Special thanks to philippehobby for the link on these babies!!
And Harold in Florida for all the great links he sends when I ask for research help.

I love being retire, 2 months in and We have some great headphones and now the much needed pots...
Now to get out and find some Gold!!

Anytime Joe, if I can help ya find something i will chip in like they say a couple of heads are better than one, thanks again for all your Mods it's well apperciated. Harold in Fla.

Hi guys, what are the tech specs of these pots? there are a couple of what the wife calls junk shops nearby, but we would probably call them Alladins caves lol (crammed full of electrical components) that stock all the hard to get and now obsolete parts, plus ex military stuff, ....boxes and boxes of goodies to go through
you never know, could be something of use in there:cheers:

Works perfect.....

Well done Joe, another find Mod you've done, yea a lot of them get broken that's for sure, Job well Done.

I leave the country for a few weeks and come back to some very good news. No more scavenging for used parts or Chinese pots (read that junk pots).

Excellent Joe you and Phillipehobby came through on this one big time. I will have one or two on the way ASAP.

My guess is these good quality pots will last for a very long time, barring mechanical damage.

Who needs Minelab now that Joe's retired. Between all these mods, hunting the bay, ( and finding treasure I might add ), and getting ready to head to VB, he's having all the fun a retired guy can ask for.

you have to get 2 things from the hobby store...brass rod, and brass tube
1/8 rod stock number 1162 precision metals
5/32 x.014 brass tube stock number 1146 precision metals Chicago ill

Been using for about two months now, maybe 10 hunts and still working perfect, One thing that is needed. These are 100

Here's a company that will make any custom potentiometer you need. Just send them one and they will copy it. With the problem Minelab has with theirs breaking, you might consider getting a hundred.

Just to follow up on this post.... The new potentiometer can be possibly made with heavier material at the weak point so they don't strip as easily as the stock pots.
