I know there are lurkers here and I KNOW some of the lurkers hunt the same spots that I do BUT are very quiet about it. One of the lurkers tosses trash back in the water. You know who you are and thats why I don't hunt with you anymore.

HOWEVER, yesterday I went to one of my spots. And what did I find?? Along the shore not just one but TWO piles of bottle tops and other trash. You pulled it out of the water and I thank you for that, BUT WHY dump it on the edge of the shore?? You could have EASILY found a trash bin to put it in or taken it home. Boaters have to be pigs but WE do not. Becasue of all the gold I find I don't mind the trash that much.

If you get a ticket for parking, which I hope you do, you can blame yourself. I on the other hand am alowed to park there AND I will never get a ticket. I PROVED to the chief of police that I take ALL the trash out of their and make it safer for the swimmers and boaters who make that place a zoo on the weekends and without us MIGHT be launching their boat or having EMS come out because of injury from trash in the water.

Ok rant is over. Hope you found gold. I only found some change, more earrings and a silver ring and a pile of cans.

I also saw one of the guys I used to hunt with out there with his wife in a pontoon. You might be a lurker and you might not but we used to talk and I used to give you all the cans I found which adds up to a pretty good sum of money. But you don't even say hello anymore because you think I tell people about all the good spots and ruin them for you. Ohh well, just becasue you you don't tell me about your finds doesn't mean I will give up. I pull too much gold out of that place.

AND for all you lurkers, The raft off is next weekend. (In case you didn't know) I SHOULD be out there in a maroon Four Winns Candia with a big dive flag on it. Come over and say hello. I will talk treasure to anyone. Be safe and have fun wherever you hunt!!

Give 'em hell scubadetector! Oh, and not all boaters are pigs. I've been living on the water over 18 years and most of the professionals and full timers are pretty good. It's the weekender / drunks / idiots who give all of us a black eye....

There is a person who hunts a popular beach where I live. He goes up an down low tide, digging holes, an tossing trash right back in. Now...keep in mind. The person is there often. Probably double/tripple digging stuff. Filling holes on shoreline of the beach...that's one thing but should be done. Heaving the rubbish is another. I can't believe this dude left a pile like that. Probably doing it on purpose. Anyway. Hh an gl. -joe

Truth is some people are just jerks.

As you know because of the drought most of the ponds and lakes are receding. A popular park in town has a duck pond that has receded showing about
20 feet of dried mud and some jerk went around the pond and left big holes in that dried up mud. Not only that but right in front of the pavilion there was
a pile of pull tabs right on the dried up mud about 10 feet from the shoreline.
How do people get away with doing this stuff in a public place?

if you dig it up throw it back your defeating your self becouse you lose time as you will dig it again and waste more time better spent digging another target that could be the find of your life, take it home and put the junk in the trash and save yourself time spent digging good targets,,also well put sd

Hi, we were out there today.....We always take our trash and cans.....What boat were you in? i seen a boat with a zodiac on it ...was that you...Wife and son and myself we have the boat says clearwater on it....Always feel free to stop by the boat .....We dont Bite...lol .We always take the Glass and Trash.Keep us posted and im always next to rite aid in chiro office in town Stop in and Chat ....Bill

WOW, Lots of replies so where do I start. Lets Go from the top down!!

Sailorman, YES your absolutely right. I am a boater also and I don't dump my trash. Its the party animals with more money than brains. No need to stereotype boaters,

Sandtick, LOL everywhere!! The place is huge and you hunt fast till you start finding targets and then SLOW down! Impossible for anybody to get it all.

Yes some people are jerks even in our hobby which is a shame. The ones that tresspass or don't fill their holes or leave trash on top are the bad apples.

DrBill, did you find anything today? I was out there yesterday. I have permission to park on the island. I won't get towed. BUT because of all the cans and bottles I expect to find next weekend I should have my maroon Four Winns Candia out there. Did the guy in the Zodiac have a detector? The last person I saw in a Zodiac was only eyeballing things I know of a few detectorists that will be out there. I am guessing at least 10. I know of 6 and them myself.

Everyone say hello to the guy and his wife that are in the pontoon boat. Let them know I told you about the raft off!! LOL on second thought not a good idea, he is already mad at me because he thinks I ruin his spots!

Drbill, I found all my civil war stuff in the water. I have one inland lake I go to that seems to have a ton of it in it. Its a dive only place. I seemed to have vacumed all the shallower stuff up. I also know where the soldiers did target practice that were stationed at FT Gratiot. LOL thats also in the water. Used to find lots of musket balls and bullets and buttons there. I also found two cannon balls there. But now its picked pretty clean although I do find one or two everytime I go out there. Its up here in Port Huron. You can wade in that spot. I run Computer Repair Plus up here. Give me a shout .

Ok I will chime in on this one... was just talking to a good hunting partner about this very subject... We ALWAYS PULL ALL JUNK OUT....we dug it why not... I know of a few guys that you just can't tell them anything without their feelings getting hurt... They constantly throw the cans and slaw back, only to be redug next time.... I don't get it... Now we are finding that same stuff out in deeper water? I am thinking that they are actually throwing it out that far on purpose... If you dig it... please take it with you..... Makes for a cleaner and safer establishment... for everyone... Thank You WHYDAH
