Howdy Folks
I was bequeathed my Dads Silver Eagle about a month ago and after finding a couple bucks in clads, 2 cheap rings and a silver dime, I now have a new obsession. The MD bug has hit me hard!! I realized pretty early that I was going to need something a little more state of the art so I started looking on these forums and ordered my AT Pro from Big Boy Hobbies last week. I received it on Monday. Bart is da Man!! Hes seems very savvy, is willing to help out the new guy and gave me one helluva deal on my Adventure pack After a day in a very trashy park I now have the 5x8 coil on order. Theres a ton of places to hunt around here and although I suspect I wont be finding much "CW" stuff :) There are plenty of beaches, lakes and deserts to keep me busy for the rest of my natural life. If anyone has any "must search" locations in the San Diego area and is willing to share I'd be much obliged. Im looking forward to lots of hours at this new hobby and sharing my successes with your guys.

I suggest you learn the ATP fairly well close to home. Then you can make those trips more worth while.

Welcome to the obsession, my friend! Trust me...go slowly and realize that time must be spent on the machine and the area you're working on. There are rewards, but not every day, other than getting out and getting fresh air. The AT Pro is excellent!

Tony E----- I plan on being in San Diego with my AT Pro tomorrow afternoon, Saturday Feb 23. Let me know if you would like to go dirt fishing. Do you have a specific place in mind? I will leave Corona around 11 or so. Should be in San Diego around 12:30 or 1:00 pm. Post on here where I should meet you. Thanks, Chuck B.

Well dang Chuck, I missed you. Sorry bout that. I didn't check out the forum until this evening.
I did go out today and searched some old trashy sites without much to show for the effort except a lot of frustration.
I was looking forward to using the new 5x8 col I ordered last week but I was sent an ACE coil by mistake. I'm promised the right one earl next week so I,ll try again:)
Just so the day wasn't a complete bust I stopped by my fav park on the way home and collected a couple bucks in clad (this ATP and stock coil is a great combo in tot lots).
I,d love to get together with ya so gimme a shout if you plan to get down here again.
