Ranger Pro false signals

dirtfisher

New member
 I just got a Ranger Pro detector and I'm getting a lot of false signals. I tried lowering the sensitivity but it didn't help much. I also tried the 4 inch coil and that seemed to help just a little. It will even give a high tone at times when it is setting still. This seems like a very sensitive detector to me and it goes as deep as I care to dig. Does anyone else use this model? How does it work for you? Any suggestions?

If it still falses after changing coils and when sitting still, even with the sensitivity turned very low, it is time to send it on back to First Texas to be re-tuned or repaired...I take it your not hunting on wet sand with it???

I had the same thing happen to my T4, it was only my 10" coil that was stuffed. As BH says if it's falsing with different coils it needs repair immediately. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:
