Took my 705 to the beach for it's maiden voyage. Dry sand hunted in Pattern 1, 4 tones, sensitivity at 18, using the 9 inch 3kHz coil. Hit some wheaties and some memorial coppers along with clad, but no silver until I remembered your tips on All Metal hunting ( the section in To Dig or Not to Dig and the 3 rules of consistency). Since I did not have a zero discrimination pattern set up, I hunted in All Metal in spot that had all kinds of different targets (iron, foil, etc.)

Concentrated on the repeatable high tones and pulled out a 1938 Merc Dime and a Liberty (V) Nickel.

The 705 worked super today, and I am very happy I have this unit and I am sure it will get better as I learn it more. Got the 'Digger' coil on order, and I will probably get a HF 6 inch DD coil too at some point.

The unit even worked well in the wet sand, but since most targets are up high due to Sandy (I am in NJ), I stayed in the dry..

Thanks again for all your hard work in putting that book together.

Thanks for the kudos. Always nice to hear that my efforts in writing the eBook are appreciated. HH Randy

I have even read through it a few times and I don't even own an x-terra. Thank you for dedicating your time and effort into developing the "Masterpiece" X-terra e-book. Your e-book has answered many of my questions. I currently run with the Sov GT and hope to add the 705 to the arsenal. - Jim

Thanks
Randy
