Random shutoff

Meditech

New member
My etrac just started randomly shutting off every once in awhile, For example When I start diiging my target I put the machine down and when I pick it up it shuts off , has anyone ever experienced this?

No I have not had this happen and hope it does not start to do it. Maybe somebody else can offer some insight on the problem. I hope your trac is ok.

I had a Garrett 350 do that and turned out to be the connection at the control box.. Just some in put Spark

Yes I had that happen too. Fortunately though it was only one day and it did it three or four times when I was using the AA battery pack. I tried different batteries and even a different pack and it still did it. I checked to make sure that the two contact springs inside the handle were close to an even length. I just couldn't figure t out. After I let it set for a while it stopped doing it, just as if it needed to set unpowered so it could "Reset" itself. Dunno but it has been fine now for alot of hours. BTW my unit has over 6000 HRS on it according to the previous owner.

Mine has about 300 hours, bought it new, and yes its just with the AA battery pack it doesnt seem to do it with the rechargable ( fingers crossed) hopefully just a glitch with that set of batteries, it only shutoff once today

when setting it down the battery's may jar lose causing a loss of power

That is exactly how it happens

Some of us put some cardboard between the Battery latch and the battery to make sure it holds in place

Good Luck

Mine started doing this and it turned out I have an intermittent short in my SEF coil wire. Works perfect until you lay the machine down to dig the it shuts everything off. Pick it up turn it on and it works fine. Might try a different coil
