Ran into an old friend of mine today - Tiffany (&Co.)

It was a very silver sort of day today. I did an inspection of my coil cover and found that the edge of the cover has worn through so I pulled it off and took it for a hunt to scuff it up a little so I can apply epoxy to it. I would prefer to swap out the cover but I don't have one and the shipping to Bermuda for just a cover is cost prohibitive. I'll apply the epoxy after a few hunts.
The Excal performed beautifully without a cover and I found some sweet silver loot today off of my beach. I didn't take the camera with me today because you've all seen my beach too many times already. It was a beautiful day and the temperatures are starting to warm up again (made it into the mid 60's F).
The gales blowing in from the north over the past few weeks have really stirred things up but I was disappointed in the mine which is still sanded in, the lane was another story. A lot of sand has been pushed up onto the beach and there is only a foot of sand before you hit the mangrove mud so there were some nice older finds to be had. I found my first silver war nickel today 1945 'P'. The last hour of my three hour hunt was spent in the lane and it provided a very nice Tiffany & Co. .925 ring which could be a match for the bracelet that Mr. B found a few weeks ago. I also picked up a silver bangle but it is badly corroded so only scrap silver will be left by the time I clean it. The bonus for the day came when I came home to clean my finds and discovered that the cross I found on Friday is actually .925, excellent. I'm sure glad I didn't dump that one in the scrap pile.

Tiffany & Co. .925 Ring (I really like these guys - should have sent them a Xmas card for all the loot they make for me):crylol:

The NUT

Interesting bunch of stuff in the nut including 5 brass key tags for Cambridge Beaches Resort, an iron ship's spike, the Jewett brass plaque and a piece of copper plumbing (never did find the sink that goes with it)

Cheers All and Good Hunting,

bda, running no coil cover will net you a very quick failure. I shreaded my 1st coil cover, about 6 months after purchasing the unit. They were on B/O for a while, so I just ran the unit, like you're doing right now. In 2 weeks of hunting, I wore the stock epoxy down to where the plastic housing began to split away, from the epoxy. Don't do it! Had to send the unit into Vegas for warranty work and thank goodness they were in a generous mood at Minelab and warrantied it for me! Would have cost me big time. Get that Loctite Aquamarine Epoxy on there right away and allow some cure time too. Keep am eye on it also, as I can't imagine it stays on there if you scrape the coil across the bottom, like I do. I have to scrape mine here, as I cannot see my coil as you can there. Need to scrape the bottom for coil control. Great finds mate!

Your ring may be larger, but here is one to compare it to. Nice find. HH

Looks like it may wind up costing me a few hundred bucks to get the bracelet, too. A small price to pay for going hunting without her getting all cranky.:bouncy:

Cheers,
