Rainy day's and beaches?

No this isn't the start to a great song..Hmmm maybe... Sorry got carried away.

I live in Oregon and I have detected for about 20 years now using whites and fisher machines. I usually just don't go if its raining or in the forecast, well it is Oregon so thats allot! I am really getting tired of sitting here and not detecting in fears of ruining my machine so I am getting ready to buy a detector to use on land, BUT I am really getting interested in beach hunting as well(less than and hour drive) so I am to the point of this pointless message, Which detector would you guys suggest to use on rainy days on land and any days on the Ocean beaches? I am leaning toward a Minelab Excalibur or a Fisher CZ-20.

Thanks!

John

The Excal's seem to be a little hotter, but, the construction seems to be lacking. The CZ-20 is built like a tank, heavy unless hipmounted, but not as sensitive to the small stuff, like earrings, small chains, earring backs, etc., not to mention that it's been discontinued.

I swing a CZ-20 with the 10.5" coil in the water. Never used an Excal. I swing a CZ-5 on land, so when an opportunity opened up for me to get a CZ-20 cheap, I jumped on it. Also, I'm not really interested in the tiny stuff.
