Rain took away all the snow yesterday.

Figured it was a good time to get all the salt off the wife's car and mine. Made it to 42 degree's. January Thaw I guess. They look nice all clean again, instead of covered in salt. I think this new liquid salting program is worst than the old one. I sure like seeing bare ground once again. That canoe is next to be cleaned.

they are talking back down to 9 degrees for tomorrow night and high's of mid 20's for weekend. Still, all things considered, it has not been a really hard winter, YET. Hope it isn't. Starting today, the sun sets at 5:00 pm so thats another 30 minutes of sunlight we gained.

Better keep my mouth shut, but so far, very little ice here this year. Now that I said that, it will ice up and stay that way until the end of March. LOL.... Actually used the oil furnace the last 2 days instead of wood. Enjoyable not being a pack mule bringing in wood all day.
I don't dare bring them in unless going in the stove. A few times I did and they had black ant nest in them. Amazing how many of them can live in a hole in a log.

Hows that new cabin working out in the winter. Thats got to be enjoyable to sit back listening to the stove crackle watching the river drive by. Does that river ice up at all? I had the picture up here for awhile as a screen saver...

When we cold, or want a tea or hot chocolate, we go into the cabin, and sit by the fire and have a warm drink.

Sometimes, it does not get any better. :):
