Rain, rain and more rain...

Well, it didn't really rain all summer and we were something 14 inches behind in rainfall and in a drought. Not any more. It's rained for the last 8 days or so and we've had upwards of 14 inches in that time. Supposed to rain the rest of the night and maybe into tomorrow morning before it clears. I heard we're going to get an inch an hour for some time tonight.

One good thing, the ground that was like concrete is going to be like butter!!! Depending on when it clears, I'm going to try to hit my church again; the area around the 1827 Quaker meeting house / cemetary. Got a good negative tide this weekend too... maybe I'll hit the beach.

The other good thing is I had my poor excuse of a lawn super seeded two weeks ago. Got a lot of new growth with all this rain :)

One bad thing... drip, drip, drip. The water's getting under the roof fan's flashing but it's not too bad considering how hard it's raining. I'll have to get on the roof tomorrow when it stops and seal around the flashing. Could be worse. A lot of areas in New Jersey (in a state of emergency) and Connecticut are getting flooded out by swollen rivers. Dams will be overflowing too. Praise God I'm home and high and dry :)

:D HERE I SIT IN NORTH LOUISIANA WITH NO RAIN IN THE PAST 5 MONTHS..KATRINA PASSED WAY EAST OF ME AND RITA PASSED WEST OF ME, THEN TURNED NORTHEAST..WE HAVE HAD 2 SMALL RAINS THAT ONLY POCK MARKED THE DUST A LITTLE..I AM AFRAID WHEN WE DO GET A RAIN IT WILL BE LIKE YOUR'S."ALL AT ONE TIME". BE CAREFUL ON YOUR ROOF TOP..GOD BLESS YOU AND VICKY...HENRY

Sounds like it will be good for you to detect when it quits. By chance - and a very slight chance , it's raining here now also. Storm blew in this eve - what a great feeling. We have the doors open & all.

Good luck tomorrow. I am obligated tomorrow but may go out Sunday aft. Steve in so az

didn't realize it would come down all at once. God's blessing for good hunting at the old church and during the low tide at the beach! Hope you find something really good!!! :)

God Bless & Happy Hunting!
Betty

I was planning on doing that on Sunday afternoon... low is for 3pm. Just realized that I can't go. Me and a bunch of other musicians will be playing at a Katrina benifit concert at a real nice Christian Coffeehouse. What time do I have to be there for a sound check? 3pm :) That's fine with me. Just doing 2 songs solo for a good cause. Should be a great night as I'll get to hear some people I've never had the chance to see play before...

when you do get out to detect I'm sure He will make sure you find something really nice with which to bless you! Keep on, keepin' on for Jesus!

God Bless!
Betty
