Rain cover?

I really like the look of the official minelab rain cover and that it goes a little onto the handle which i think would keep me from rubbing the top of the foam grip. I have read that not too many like that rain cover and prefer the basic "kellyco cover. Any opinion's?
Also, Whats up with taping the foam handle with leather or tape? Any real reason for that ( I wear thin gloves).

the foam grip gets really dirty and it soaks into the grip. i used tape on mine for a wile but got tired of that and just used it without anything to protect it. it ended up getting soaked so deep that wile cleaning it it started to rip so i just ripped it off and came up with my texas style leather grip.
as for rain covers well i just use what came with the e-trac i did buy the z a gg cover and love it but it doesnt cover the speaker.

Well, I just received a black Sun Ray cover that I put on my Etrac last night. It fits really well and I can get it off and back on very easily as it has "velcro snuggers" across the bottom. My two cents, Ray.

I saw a pic of your leather cover..Very cool. Thanks for letting me know why you made it...I wonder is the foam the same as on the EX? Mine has held up pretty good.

I will probably get the Z as it cuts the glare down and use it on the rain cover as well as i like to keep mine coverd as much as possible. I tend to hunt on the worst days of the year for some reason...part of my lucky nature.

I wrapped the foam grip with a tennis racket replacement handle grip - about $5. It was a suggestion made by someone here.
Looks, fits and feels great and is real easy to wash the dust and dirt off with a wet cloth.

I never hunt without the environmental cover on and I wrap the foam handle with this medical wrap that I get from the local pharmacy, It is lightly adhesive and stretchy I can quickly change it out when It gets to dirty. The foam is usually the first thing to get screwed up followed by the screen.
