Rain and ground conductivity

Since this is all
Electricity and magnetism, have any of you noticed that a good
Rain/higher ground Moisture seems retard or enhance tones, or
Do your tend to Get better signals when it's dry

Hello.

After a good soaking rain I always had more signals in the wet ground.

But the nicer targets were detected in dry soil. And...
...the disc works better in the dry.

Think this has something to do with the halo effect. A wet halo will be detected
at greater depth and will expand the targets size. This is the right scene for relic hunters.
These targets will also mask the good ones which will not build that kind of large halo.
(pure gold is building no halo!)

So yes, I found more targets after a good rain, but the better ones in ordinary environment.

IMHO

best regards

re scanned a spot that I scoured recently and found a few more coins. all were 5" or so, thought perhaps the recent rain had something to do with it..

Generally speaking-wetter is better but i find soil that is consistently moist top to bottom is best for depth... it also seems to me that if soil is only wet on top but somewhat dry underneath i dont get very good depth.. i usually struggle in dry conditions too..

I like hunting after a good rain, it seems to enhance to signals a little better.........just my thoughts.

In one place i hunt rain will give better signals to iron mineralization also. In dry weather its not as bad sometimes even gone completely. So i would say wet ground would conduct better. For good and bad targets.

It seems i have better luck after one of those really good soaking rains.
Think i get a lil better depth. Thts just me....
