Rail road find

Couple weeks ago while hinting an abandoned farm house. This was about 10 inches deep giving me a 42 to 46 deep on the 705. Was all curled up and I straightened it out to read. It's a piece of copper with letters stamped in it W.D. Morton Fallston, M & P R R. It was found in fallston Maryland. The W.D. Morton after looking it up on google was a trucking company in North Carolina. Someone told me that trucking companies owned rail road cars. I'm thinking this copper plak was soldered onto something. Solder around the back edges is vi sable from the back., maybe a rail road car. The M & P I'm Thinking is the ma and pa rail road (Maryland & Pennsylvania). It's been defunk for many years.... early 1900's.
