can anyone tell me what would cause a car radio to lose the FM stations all of a sudden? All we get is static, but AM works fine??????
 
affect FM and not AM??
 
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it works that way... Take the antenna off a portable am/fm radio. The AM will work but you won't get anything on FM. I had a car with an electric antenna once and everytime it got iced up it wouldn't move. I got AM but no FM... It may not be the problem with yours but it's easy to check. Depending on the model (having installed a couple of car radios in my time) you can sometimes see (or feel) where the antenna hooks in under the dash. Check your car manual or online.
