Went back to an old "hunted out" site that no one wanted to detect again and......

See for yourself (watch to the end, you'll be surprised at what I detect!):

great vid and great finds, Brian.....the big phoenix is stellar!
you certainly had me at the end!

spring has finally arrived in the great white north so I'll be taking the new R2 out this week....

cheers

Nice finds Brain, very nice Phoenix Button. You should post a pic of it on AHRPS. Cindy will have a cow, she is a button fanatic especially the Phoenix ones :)
Ya the rusted tin can really get to your nerves after awhile. If it was only rusted nails and other ferrous junk, that is fine....but the rusted tin flakes.......

love that Cal dirt .

Thanks everyone!

Gregg I'll try to get a pic of the Phoenix button posted on Monte's AHRPS site in a couple of days once I get back home.

I'm hoping to detect a very old site tomorrow on my way home. The first trip there produced a 1700's silver one reale, a U.S. bust dime and a seated half dime on the first trip, should be interesting to see if the R2 can sniff out anything else.

Brian

If only it was all like that :detecting: Some places out here require a pick axe to chisel out your target (especially in the summer), others are easy digging, they're all different really, but this site has great arid loose/sandy soil that's incredibly kind to non-ferrous metals, and it's undisturbed by modern human influences
