TROLL #2
Received my Tiger coil today and have my preliminary findings to share.
Feels nice, good weight and balance. Coli cover seems a little cheap and brittle. Cable is strong but not the quality of the stock coil. As far as air depth I am going to save a lot of typing and tell you that across the board it has an increase in depth of about 2 inches over the stock coil. I was impressed though that the smaller (Half Dime, Silver 3 center) were about 3 inches deeper. This was in both 2 and 3 tone.
The more I turned sens up it became chattier than the stock at the same setting but it is more sensitive.
Separation is all they say. I put 3 16 penny nails down and alternated a quarter, dime, and nickel with them and got 6 clear and separate signals (Low and high tones) in 2 and 3 tone. No matter how fast I swung. Then I put the coins under the ends of the nails (Touching the coins) and the same result... Awesome.
But as I raised the height of the coil the tones started to blend but were still separate for the most part. If I went slower they were really good. So on deeper targets it would be best to go slow.
Over all I like the coil and will love to see it in action, but I have a really good deal on an e-trac and may sell my Racer and all it's goodies to pay for it (Wife's request) LOL. If you need to know anything else let me know.
