Racer straight shaft???

El

Active member
Has anyone come up with any ideas for mounting the Racer on a straight shaft with a pistol grip? Sure would be nice of Makro would offer a option.

I really like the Racer but it kills my wrist -- probably has to do with my age and old bones - not really ergonomic for me.

Look in this forum under "The Gold Racer". I Asked about a reworked S handel or a pistol grip and Dilek said they are working on it.

I hope if they do offer an option it would also include existing Racers that have been purchased.

I could see coming out with a new straight shaft but for existing ones ? I don't think that is going to happen. Why would they? Now if they offered a upgrade to send it in and we pay a fair price then ok. We want to keep them in business not bankrupt. GS

Hi El, ya I agree of all the great things the Racer can do, it sure fell on its butt when it comes to Ergonomics. Funny , I had the solution in front of me the whole time.....but was so hell bent on using the Racer this one stood in the corner. It is the Fors CoRe, same performance, spot on ergonomics and a dream to swing compared to the Racer. I got one in a trade deal and never really used it. Monte and I went out a few days ago and I took it with me and used it. The 11x7 coil is a breeze to swing and put on the "oor" coil....is like silk. In fact I now use it over the Racer, keeping one Racer as a back up and sold my other Racer just a few days ago.

Not asking for a freebie. Gladly pay to have them do it or buy a replacement upper shaft assembly.

Thanks Gregg.

That sounds interesting. I don't know about the control knobs on the Fors CoRe-- never used one. The one thing I really like about the Racer is how easy it is to use. It could be a entirely dark night and I can ground balance and set my desired tones without looking. Is the CoRe the same way and are all the coils interchangeable between the Racer and the Fors CoRe?

The CoRe is as easy to set up as the Racer. In fact once you set your settings, the CoRe retains your settings. Also the handgrip shows VDI numbers. I thought I would miss having the whole screen in front of me......but I don't. Also a big plus ( at least for me) is that the mid-tone on the Fors Core is more pronounced and much easier to hear then the mid-tone on the Racer.

Hi El , I didn't take it as you were looking for a freebie. I also would gladly pay for them to or sell one. And the FORS CoRe can not use the Racers coils or Vice versa. GS
