I went back to the same place again. 1 disc. with sens. at 65 because grass was so high. Very slow sweep with the stock coil and used headphones which helped tremendously. Again, I missed these with my previous detector.
The Chinese ? coin is a first for me. I would appreciate any info on it.. Thanks Richard

I like the Superman Junior Defense League. It's been many, many years since I have seen one of these.:clapping:

Nice finds there Richard. I have found a few Chinese coins but don't know anything about them. I've never seen or heard of the Superman League before. Good gold find. Now try it with the gain/sens. cranked to 90+ and see what else you find. Makes deep targets sound off good so you can't miss them. Leave disc. at 0 and try again in different directions and I will bet you will find more things or go to the small OOR coil and do this and see. I've tried it and did find more collocated items.

Tom, I am like you, coming up with a number of combinations that work differently but produce. I changed the disc to 40 and went right back to 1 because I couldn't hear as much. I am working on finding nickels now.. Richard

Are U using 2 or 3 tones? 3 Tones the nickels will be around 55-56 and a mid tone Richard. The number may be jumpy in the low 50's to 58-59.

I found you can virtually crawl along with this machine and it still hits good. I've been using the OOR small coil after trying the 5x10" which I liked due to the balance of the machine with it compared to the stock coil. Since I have tried the 4.5" coil I think I may just leave it on there as I'm starting to like small coil hunting no hurry and can really clean a place out without thinking something was missed. Maybe go back after with a larger coil to see if any really deepies were missed. Won't be so many shallow targets to mask the deeper ones then.

We may have been hunting backwards all these years. Small coil to clean a spot out first of many shallower targets and then a larger coil later for the rest instead of the other way around. May try that next at a new spot

Richard you haven't been using headphones? Good lawd, there's so much more info to the ears with them it's uncanny. It's been hot as heck and 2 days ago I went to a crap pit, crazy trashy house demolition site and inside of 30 minutes the cups inside my headphones were full of sweat and I was soaking wet too. I can understand not using em. That nickel signal is gonna be a good solid hit compared to everything around it conductivity wise. Stops you in your tracks. Simply put if it doesn't sound good it more than likely isn't good metal. Tom you metioned small coil first then stock coil, I've done it and turned up not enough to matter. Small coil is deep and like using a small screen to sift if you are methodical in your approach. Matter a fact tried it with several machines behind the small coil, small coil cleaned it out.

Nice JFLYNN. I was thinking for those who tend to cherry pick a site first, or don't overlap sweeps but instead tend to wander around instead of digging all targets of good sound in a tight grid search. I tend to do that myself as I'm in no hurry to go find a new spot till I wear the one I'm at out. Or I may work 2 spots at once so as to not be seen there at one spot everyday as the parks near my house are small. Trying close to home first then branching out further and further to find spots. Read good story how guys from each town thought it was cleaned out so went to each others towns and found stuff so I decided to stay close to my house first starting 3 years ago and still am finding stuff at these parks..

Good hunts the chinese could date back to 1600 it depends on who ruled back then. You can find online info

I love the 5x10 and use it most of the time...its deep and fast and covers enough ground then I'll go back with the 11" and see what may have been missed or was a tad deeper or just needed to cover more ground...

Nice finds Richard. I tell folks about any old home site is prey for the Racer; especially with the small coil!!!!

An old Chinese copper coin, made during Kangxi Emperor period (1661-1722) of Qing Dynasty.i believe this is your coin richard!!

Nice digs Richard

Really like the gold locket, we find a fair amount of Chinese cache coins out here in the west....more then gold lockets :detecting:

HH,
Brian

You never know what you will find I have found things that just blew me away and are worth a lot of money. Funny how when gold or silver breaks people just toss it sometimes and then those are those that break it and it falls off and they don't know it and it gets steped on and sinks into the grass only to be found by our detectors

I have only used 3 tones... 2 tones when I start relic hunting.. I had 5 x 10 coils in stock with one especially for myself but I felt sorry :cry:for a customer and let him have it.. Now I have to wait till early August to get more in. I look forward to using it. R

I got my 5x10 coil from Richard a few months ago...great service great price and a kick @$#$ coil. It is such a great coil and detector. I think it can keep up with any unit encluding my deus

I too got my whole Racer Pro package with one of the 5"x10" coils from Richard and I did a trade for a D--S with the 11" coil setup. Great guy to do biz with and I will continue to do so in the future. Good luck on future finds Richard.

Nice going Richard! Congratz on the coin.
