Hi All, I have a Racer that I use a lot and got a scratch on the screen. Dose anyone know it the clear plastic sheet can be replaced? It is not deep it is just the sheet that covers the screen. I should keep rain cover on but I like to hunt without one,and this is what I did. I love the Racer, just wish I was not so ruff on it. Thanks Racer Fan

I am sure the factory can do it........... unless there is an American repair facility set up now. That might be the only place..

Sounds only cosmetic. Why do you need the screen replaced? - I would think you will get more scratches over time running it without a cover -

Must be a bad scratch mine has one now it looks broken in:starwars:

I would call the dealer you bought it from, or contact the factory itself. They would have the answer.

Its not a part they sell but seems easy enough to peel and replace. Send cavit@makrodetectors.com an email and see what they can do. Can't image it would cost much even with shipping from turkey. My caution would be affects on warranty is you DIY.

Thanks All for the replies, I just sent a email to them. Low-boy it is not so bad that it interferes with the face, but I just can,t stand to look at it known I did it. Thanks again flintstone

I have one (scratch):goodnight: myself and the only way it got me upset was if I ever wanted to sell it

If you guys would just apply a high quality screen cover/protector (right off the bat)---you wouldn't have that "worry"!----Also--then you could "loose" the control box cover with the associated glare from the plastic window on that cover.----I've done that with all of my detectors that have screens--it "can't be beat with a stick"!----You can even apply a piece to the buttons also if you wish (as I have done).-----It's super durable & leaves ABSOLUTELY no residue should you ever take it off.

I left the factory peel-off screen protector on mine, and leave the rain cover on all the time, so that should protect it. When I get a new machine, I try to leave on those peel-of screen protectors they ship with and outfit them with a rain cover right away to keep them nice.

hh,
Brian

Hi Brian, You say they have a screen protector? That is good to here, I don,t weary as much now. I though I had scratch the screen. I know Whites sells a screen protector that if it gets scratch you can replace it. flintstone

I purchased a kit from auto-zone to 'freshen up' my oxidized headlights on my Honda Civic. They are made of Lexan or some such plastic. I ended up using a 2000 grit pad and after a water wash, I used the included rubbing compound (very VERY fine grain). I then put the protectant on it. All scratches AND oxidation.......gone. Maybe this could be an answer. Hope it helps. Kevin
