RACER DID GOOD IN MY SOIL " GROUND BALANCE OF 85

I was thinking the Racer may not high tone in my soil because it has black sand in it so i did a test using a 5.5" deep dime and to my Gladness it hit the dime with a high tone , in the three tone mode and a high tone in two tone, if you ask me thats fairly good , was using the small coil

Good test Gunnar and it passed in your insane mineralized dirt. By any chance do you have a five gallon bucket to test coins and relics at greater depths? Since it is zero temperatures in your neck of the woods, you mine as well keep investigating the Racers depth and unmasking abilities. Use different scenarios with different size nails, foil, pull tabs mixed in with good non-ferrous targets. Get to know your machine well. By Spring you will be ready to hit the ground running. Personally, I'd like to see a depth test in your soil with that little 3 cent piece.

I had just enough dirt left over but the remainder is fro zed, that 3 cent coin comes in every bit as good as a dime when we get a thaw i have targets in ground i can test on 6 inch dime 7 inch dime 8 inch dime 9 inch deep ring this little coil is a heavyweight for its size. kinda reminds me of the Gold bugs small coil I think it will do well on the 30,s depression shack. still untouched by a detector. Racer will be on it and the Vista Gold

The Racer in your area will be killer. I detect around your area a few times a year and have found some pretty deep mercs and Barber dimes with my Racer.

You think you can still pick it up at 8" in your mineralized dirt? If you have no snow on the ground, maybe you can bundle up and check out those planted dimes? :)

Jim I did put the 3 cent coin under the tub of dirt and got it with a good dig gable signal, as soon as it gets above 40 i will dtry it out side on the 8" dime it should get the 8" dime as it easily does it in air test that with the small coil its better on high conductors than my Vista Gold , the amount of options on the Racer makes it very nice to use , very easy to switch, from two tone to all metal or three tone, it also has the vibrating handle for those hard of hearing , or lets say you are detecting next to a busy hwy or ocean beach, with waves crashing and people screeming , at play

Gunnar you need at your first chance get that machine in the nastiest place you hunt and use 3 tone and listen to it. You will be shocked at what it will pull out of the ground, rather alert you to whats there. The small coil will blow your mind in nasty trash places like no other.

Yea, those spot will come alive in there. Hard to tell what's still hidden among those type areas but no doubt it will pull the keepers. HH

That is really good depth in your mineralized soil. Now you are all fired up to go detecting and it is sub-zero temperatures. Keep testing away and Spring will be here before you know it. - Jim
