Racer Detector.

Has anyone used the new Racer detector? If so do you like it.

How deep can it go?

Can it go has deep as the Fisher F70?

Or the MXT.

I want to trade my Bisstool for another detector, and the salesman said he will trade me the Racer for the Bisstool.

What do you think, and what detector I should trade it for?

Thanks.

Hi Sidney,
I do not own a racer but I have been looking at reviews from well respected detectorists over here in Britain and all the reviews seem to be very positive concerning both depth and performance in heavy iron areas.
One depth review showed the racer picking up a tiny hammered silver coin at the incredible depth of nearly 8 inches. If you knew how small this coin was you too would be seriously impressed. If it can pick up such coins at these kinds of depths it is definately deeper than an mxt or an f70.

I've looked at many videos about the Racer and I think this is a Fisher F75 modification or something like that. Look and behaves exactly like an F75 in e new skin.

The Teknetics T2 opened up a new window in the design of detectors. Several well respected machines have set out to equal or better it's performance using the same general technical approach. The Racer is a good example of an evolved "T2 type" detector. This is normal in the technworld and there is nothing wrong with it.

Chinese pirate copies of the T2 are another matter - outright theft of First Texas' intellectual property. These have been pretty well kept out of the US, but some detectorists abroad don't seem to care if they are aiding and abetting theft. It's too bad really.

Meanwhile Fors/Makro works hard in furthering the limits of what can be done with single frequency detectors using digital signal processing and tightnDD coils.

I personally don't think you can go with the Racer. Once you learn the tones and variations of tones, it is nothing short of an amazing machine. I've used the Etrac and M6 almost exclusively for the past 7 years, but the Racer is quickly becoming my Go-To detector. Love that small OOR coil. So much fun.

Just to be clear, GMD, the Racer may have some physical similarities to an F75 there are huge differences in how they work. There is no "Look and behaves exactly like an F75 in e new skin" to it at all. I have had an F75 SE and I have a Racer. I cannot imagine anyone who has run both thinking that.

Here here Tom.

F75/F70 definitely different animal from Racer in/around iron. Now out in clean areas they favor some. But the F75/F70 detectors just shut down tonally vs Racer when around/in iron.

Racer is far closer for example to Xp Deus than either F70/F75 series.
