Racer 2

Been using the racer 2 and love what it does.. But I sure wish the screen wouldn't scratch so damn easy... Easiest of all of my Detectors to scratch.. Does makro have a peel off replaceable screen?

I was wondering the same thing about the screen cover. Mine came yesterday, pre-scratched. But that's okay, it's barely noticeable.

I just get some ipad (or any tablet) screen protectors and cut to fit. Order off feebay and they are next to nothing on cost.

I just picked up a Racer 2 today and it is pre scratched a little bit. I'm on my way now to pick up some screen protectors to put on mine. I did get the covers for mine too. That will help some too.

There is a plastic screen protector on the detector right out of the box. unless you peeled it off.

no i didnt peel off anything.. are you sure? should i use the factory rain cover or ipad screen protector?

I would still use the factory rain cover regardless. Just for protection.

I agree rain cover. But there is one on mine.

Yeah mine came with a peel off cover ... left it on and put the rain cover over it ...

the Makro or Nokta Environmental Covers or Rain Covers, they are called both. I also leave the thin film on the display.

The only issue with using the Racer series display cover is that it can be a little more difficult pressing the adjustment buttons. I am going to try some of the little stick-on 'bumpy' pads as that might help make it easier with the cover on.

I don't like any display that scratches easily, and many do of different brands, but I also don't get my hands dirty or wipe them across the display.

yes i see it now.. thin layer of film over screen... thank you jesus lol i ordered rain cover set and ipad screen protectors. im really impressed with this racer 2,, another silver ring today along with other goodies and alot of fun.. thanks guys.

just got my R2 also....I plan to peel off the factory screen protector, place it on a sheet of paper and trace it out.
that'll serve as a template for making a sturdy z a g screen protector, out of, you guessed it, an ipad screen protector...
so far, I really like the build quality.....and ergos are pretty good but not up to G2+ standards, but hey, what is?

that's exactly what I did ^^^^^ G2+ may not be as deep as a R2 but still to see how this detector works in modern trash if its as good as a F19/G2+ then they have done very well.

I haven't used a R2 so I don't know but if its as fast as a GR and id's as good as a F19 then sign me up
