Racer 2 pulls up stuff that the racer 1 missed

First trip out with the racer 2 on a site I'd been over plenty with the racer 1 pulled this up at about 8 inch

in all honesty, I think you finally got your coil over the target, rather it was a Red Racer or Racer 2. I don't know how many times i have went over an area that I swear I have "worked out" only to find some more nice targets. Just because you went thru an area a few times......does not mean you found it all.

By the way....nice find :)

I'd have to agree with Gregg. I don't think my Racer 2 will pull out anything my regular Racer wouldn't. I think the Racer 2 just has more features, not necessarily better performance.

Yup, I have hunted in almost the same footprints in my spots with numerous detectors only to find that I missed a few targets by mere inches or feet of each other.

I have to agree with Gregg and the others.
How deep was the target?
Was it near iron?
What type of conditons was it weather wise?
So many variables to consider.
There will always be a debate with the new vs the old.

Gent's I'll have to tell ya. The adjustable tone break and very key here, the "iron volume" have pushed the Racer line to an even higher level. Iron audio being the deciding factor. When you can kill the iron sound down to just an almost small buzz it lets the machine jump ahead of the game again coupled with the almost live audio you will be shocked. I'm excited to see how they can push the envelope again in the coming years. The unmasking capabilities are jaw dropping now....

ver good depth for that y

Too bad you didn't have the racer 1 to go over the target again..could be earth was wet lots of things can get in the way why you find targets and don't

my theory is if I just bought a new detector and it found something I missed with another detector then I can feel good about spending the cash and you know we all have to sleep at night , so what ever gets you through the night :bouncy:

works for me and I am sticking with it

no really unless there are zero sounds in the ground in a true AM you missed something :jump:

"You might have heard that 'Joey' before but disregarded as a [ possibly ] trash 'iffy' signal?"

I know this has happened with me - and as the R2 is such a great surgical cutter some 'iffy' responses were [ cleaned up ] and 'Walla...turned into non ferrous digs.
Granted many were uninteresting scrappy bits but nonetheless were previously MISSED

What I have come to know is that there is no such thing as "Hunted Out".. No matter how many times you may go over a patch of ground, you are likely to come up with a new find here and there. But when you buy a new detector and go over previously hunted ground and make a new find, it makes that purchase seem vindicated.. If using your detector makes you feel like a million bucks, then it was worth every penny.

I pulled up about 15 other coins now in this very small patch I don't know if the soil has been diff the last few times I've been out but I know they wernt coming up as clear as the racer 2
