racer 2 park hunt

Albert

Well-known member
Took racer out to trashy park yesterday to see how it would do. I was using default setting 3 tone and boy the racer was going off like a machine gun. Hard to tell good from bad with all that noise. Had to look at I'd constantly to see if the numbers were close to coin numbers. . Numbers jumping all over the place. Can someone with some hours on this machine tell me how to adjust it so that I hunt this type of place without going bonkers. I've used various other detectors and non were as bouncy or as noisy except for the classic t2 .thanks

Turn your ID filter up to about 25 if you are mostly hunting coins and your tone break to around 25 ....you can go higher on both if your mainly seeking coins. The ID filter will eliminate anything below 25 from sounding Most good targets are 40 or above. The Tone Break determines where is changes from a junk sound grunt to a higher tone. If it's real trashy you could set both these at 40 and still dig most good targets.

If i'st really trashy and you're just looking for shallow coins and jewelry, try turning your Gain down to 01. It will still hit coins to 4" but will really help to quiet down the detector in high trash areas and also helps with the separation.

yep disc up gain down get used to the detector , takes time to learn and well some of the detectors I didn't get on with early are now my best producers so worth hanging in there sometimes.
