Racer 2 on wet beach:clapping:

I tried the R2 IN Deep Mode yesterday (on the beach) after ground balancing to 00 dropped sensitivy to the lower to mid 50s to quiten it done and was still able to hit buried coins 10+ inches down and after raising the coil a few inches above the ground loud and clear. Very easy to swing. Only problem was falsing on salt pockets. Great potential, going to experiment some more. Keep you posted.

Beach mode works well on the wet sand also. Just crank up the gain until it starts to false, then back off the gain just until it smooths out.

I used beach mode on my Racer on the wet saltwater beach, detected with my bud that uses the Explorer2, and was able to keep up with him and hear everything he could hear no problem. I did have to slow down a bit, once I figured that out, the signals started coming in!

How deep were your targets?

The Razer 2 is at the top of my list for my first detector. I have seen a couple of online reviews and liked them so far. Any other thoughts you have on this as my first buy would be appreciated. Going to use it at the beach mostly to start.

It's well balance and easy to swing. If you are like me, I hunt for hours at a time and it being easy to handle helps. I am going to get some beach sand and make a test garden at home with it. Yeah that it my own private beach. That way I can tinker with it more in my spare time.

R2 works about as wall as a vlf single freq can on the wet salt. I've hit 10 inch coins with mine, but NO single freq will equal or exceed a multi or PI on the beach day in and day out. In the dry no problem, but not the best for wet. We have yet to see the detector that is best in all conditions. I love my red, black and gold racers, but they are not my first choice in salt- better than most, but not the best.

I have no intentions of competing with any other detector. I just want to see what the Racer 2 can do at it's best for a single VLF machine on a wet salty beach.

Wasn't measuring, but got some super deep coins once I slowed down!
