Racer 1 Overloads Below ~45F

I know people in the past have had issues with the Racer overloading in cold weather (Google searches), but the end results or conclusions never seem to be posted, or it's concluded that it's a coil issue. My Racer 1 is in continuous overload in any position when the temperature is ~45 F and below, in Two Tone, with both the stock and Sniper coils, and when the Gain is set to 40 or above. It does not overload at those temperatures with the Gain at 39 or below. It continuously overload with those conditions in Three Tone. I received the unit during the summer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you. Just sent the email.

The one I have(Red Racer) does that as well and still does. I found that turning the gain down to 39 seems to loose little depth. I have had 2 different coils on the machine the original and replacement but both still overload. I hunted often with it turned down to 39 on gain to eliminate the over load and was still pulling civil war bullets at 6 + inches and buttons at the same depths. I found the 1662 Two Pence which is .7 grams of silver (paper thin the size of a us dime) at about 3 inches with those same conditions. I don't know if they ever completely solved the issue but I have found many things when using the 39 gain in cold weather. Also you may find it goes into overload in warmer conditions when you turn it on .... switch to beach mode and then back to your desired mode.... I have found that often takes it out of a start up overload.

Thanks for the info. I emailed Ms Dilek and she emailed me back asking for serial numbers and a video of the problem (my first metal detector video on a cheap camera; somehow it worked!). I haven't heard back yet.

One thing I noticed was that, in cold weather (27F the other morning), it doesn't overload in Beach Mode. It does in the other three modes. We'll see.

Update: Problem solved! Ms Dilek sent replacement coils and they work great, even at 33F this morning. I cannot believe how fast and responsive they were to address the problem; and the coils got to me from Turkey in less than week! This is customer service!
