R2 for relic hunting

Any opinions of how this detector will do for civil war relic sites here in Va.? The soil where I hunt is good around here. I also have a few homesites loaded with iron I will try if I decided to get one. Thanks, Robert

i'm thinking all metal mode and watch the numbers plus chart

I have the same question Robert. The R2 sure is tempting. But performance wise, is it any better than my t2se/dst. It sure is a good looking detector.

It is a good looking detector. But looks alone do not a detector make. I like the notch setup. May be helpful in knocking out unwanted targets like those pesky 22's and shotgun shells. I would be curious to see how it does in a heavy iron site. There has to be some masking of good targets in one of our old home sites.

The R2 is world class in unmasking in iron with the 5 inch coil installed..

It will be an eye opener on low to mid conductors in sites you THINK are depleted of non ferrous targets..

This is the Forte of the Unit reopening iron sites...

It takes the Racer DNA and Adds more Options in terms of exact tone break ..and also Iron volume and also tailored Tone Hz...

the Racer DNA is already world class unmasking the R2 just goes further with more fine tunability...
