Hello all, I've been using my Racer 2 for about 10 hours now ( not long I know) And my 1st thoughts are Wow! what a great detector! I went to the park in town that is beat to death detector wise, I used the 5" coil and found more coins (all clad) than I ever have. That being said they were all surface or just below, but it did find them amongst all the trash. In my test garden I cant get the depth that I can with my Tesoro Cortes or my Whites MXT. They both (barely) will hit my 9" dime. I'm sure the Racer will too once I learn the setting better.

9" dime I have to admit that a bit deep for the racer I can hit the 8" dime good with the stock coil , but one thing i like is how easy it is to set up . and it will beat the three you mentioned in separation. to no end. but ya I agree its not a depth machine

I have never worried about depth in all my detecting years. Separation, separation!! Yes, you need more than 1-2" but, 5-6" is probably more than enough.

All depends on mineralization too. I'm in Australia and sometimes depending where I'm hunting i have hit coins at 10+ inches and other areas well you know 7/8". My coil is shot too until my new one arrives. Still pretty good if you take that into consideration. Will be nice to finally push the gain past 39....then we will see it's true potential. Runs stable on the gold fields too. Very happy about that.
