That little thing with a rainbow stone is shaped like a hart.

I pried the opal and the dirt out of it and tested it for gold.

It is 10k gold...............BUT...............:O

After I tested it, I set down somewhere and that was the last
I've seen of it................

Oh Well.................

That's not the first time. I got a gold chain running around here
somewhere also...........

It's not that bad though. The thing was so tiny it would not have
had been worth more than a few dollars.

But at least I can say I FOUND GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

HH,

i have done that. i just misplaced a gold chain i found. i took it to my inlaws house to show them and i forgot where i put it when i got back.....stupid me....:rage:

Time to get that detector out and find it tabdog..... :goodnight:

I found a 1901 Barber quarter (NOT an "S", thank heaven), cleaned it up, laid it on a shelf in my kitchen......and haven't seen it since. Probably my wife saw it as just "more junk" and pitched it.

i have had a bag of finds that iv'e been trying to locate for 3 yrs now,i know it's here!:rant:burns me up every time i think about it!

hi td, sorry to hear of you misplacing the gemstone and au necklace. i don't like losing stuff either, but we all do. i'm sure you'll find it eventually. i found a beautiful coat size confederate texas button along with another button that had a lyre on it in a friend's yard about 10 years ago. i stashed it away, forgetting about it, until one of my exes and myself broke up. i breathed a sigh of relief, went to get it, and it was gone! you wanna talk about mad? oh man. words can't describe it. i know she took it, telling her friends about it, and word got back to me. i got to the antique shop just a couple of days too late. the owner [whom i knew] informed me he had recently bought and sold a nice texas button. he felt bad for me and hooked me up with some old silver. nice gesture on his part, and i appreciated it. needless to say, i started buying safes a short time later. just call me "LEARNT CAT" after that fiasco. any good finds i make nowadays [at least for the past 10+ years] go straight into the vaults. thanks for reading, and hh,

TD I have one of those special place where I put things so I will know just where it is when I want it. I have many things there now and when I find this place it will take me days to go through all the stuff that is there. Z

Well I guess that is one good reason to move every couple years, I always find stuff I thought I lost. (one more move and that should be it - retired from the Army)

Stupid me is at it again.......i was out at a new park today with my son and guess what i did? i was poking around a hole with my screwdriver when i noticed my son was a bit too far from me. so i called out for him to come back closer. as i did....i stabbed myself with the blasted screwdriver right at the tip of my finger...yes it bled a little....made me want to pack bandaids for my next trip out.....

seems you are batting 1000, tabdog.... (Is the full moon out?)

A big Thank You for starting this post. I thought I was the only one who misplaced valuable things. Now my contribution: A few years ago my wife (she's a compulsive hoarder) was in the hospital after suffering a stroke and I decided to clean/straighten up the house before she got out. Our children were helping one evening when one of them brought a small paper bag to show me. The bag was the kind grocery stores would put a candy bar or other small item in, about 3" by 5" by 7" high and looked to be half full of coins. I dug a hand full of them out and just by letting them run through my fingers back into the bag all I saw was mercury dimes and one Roosevelt. The bag was placed in that "special place" we all keep things in and hasn't been seen since. I know it's still here in the house but I have no idea where.

What!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's the silver, I know it's around here somewhere???

man, that has to be frustrating.

If I knew where all my stuff was, I wouldn't have to go to thet store

half as much,

I wear my necklace that I found, I don't think it is gold, but it is nice.
