Hello... My Name is Reb and I'm a newbie here, and to detecting. A friend gave me a qxt pro, he bought it new, used it two times and said detecting wasn't for him, and stored it away and now as mailed it to me. I don't have a manual for it, and having no luck finding one and thought someone here could help me?
I'm about having a hobo fit wanting to go huntin' with it, but thought I'd ask how to set it up for coin huntin' and leave it set that way. Any help would be appreciated greatly.....Reb

Print the manual out then you have something to write notes out on when you find something that works for you. Easier than trying to remember what you did under certain conditions. Since you want to coin hunt you will probably be on lawns in parks or at houses. If the sod is moist as in most parks and yards I don't dig shallow coins say 3 to 4 inches. I locate the coin with my well used and rounded screw driver then 9gentally push it in to the soil so as not to scratch the coin) I grab the shaft just above the level of the grass (one hand on the handle) and pull the grass and roots aside in all directions until I have a hole above the coin. Then using the screw driver I flip the coin on it's side and pinch the coin between a finger and the screwdriver and lift it out of the hole. I have had park personal watch me do this and when I had the coin out they were satisfied I wasn't messing up their park and they left. After you have your coin just step in the hole and it pretty much disappears. It does much the same thing as a plug aerator. Deeper coins require digging. I leave that for open fields or country side. Any newer parks say 20 years old are not likely to have anything but clad in the top layer. Use your head first and keep park personal happy with you and the sport is my advise. Good luck and happy hunting.
