Quick Silver issues?

Turn on brand new detector out of box and the AL5cent is constant and beeping regardless of where you go or what you do to it....even when you point it to the sky in the middle of nowhere!
It wouldnt even detect a dime/nickel/quarter in the test the first go round. Throw a quarter on the ground and it wont detect it....turn it off and then turn it back on and it will detect it sometimes!?
Tried 2nd set of brand new batteries and went to shallow setting and "x" out IRON, etc and nothing seems to help.
Secondary issue seems like it goes crazy between all "detect" items sometimes too and there isnt any reason for that either!


Any ideas?

I would contact the company to see if they can steer you in the right direction. If not, you may have to ask for a replacement and return your detector.

i have a quick silver sometimes when i take from out of a warm house to a different temperature change like outside it will continue to beep eratic until the machine adjust to the temperature , usually 5-10 minutes then it works fine . maybe this will help?

why is the damn thing locked on AL5 though??

I would contact the dealer first (if you bought from one) instead of the factory. Sometimes the factory will tell you to contact the dealer for a replacement on a new detector. If no dealer, contact factory. Poor thing sounds sick to me.
