Quick question, using electrical tape to protect the stock DD?

What do you think, would this cause reduced functionality? My guess is if i can wrap it evenly it would work, though maybe a little lost depth. 10/14 DD that came with the detector.

Elec tap is magnetically and electrically non conductive so performance of the coil will not be affected.
Some tape can build an static charge in dry conditions which could possibly cause some pings and pops as the coil moves through the grass.
I have used coils wrapped in elec tape and have not noticed any problems..

Some people use Spirap which is thicker than tape and provides better protection to the coil from bumps against rocks.

Wonderful, I`ll go for it. I live in a city famous for its rain so dry grass shouldnt be much of a problem, thanks for the feedback sir.
