The X-30 had a preset GB. The 305 added a manual GB, adjustible Threshold and the Multiple tone option. May be more but that is all I can think of off-hand. You might pull up both Instruction manuals in the FAQFAQ section and see if I missed anything. HH Randy

Also the 305 will use the mid frequency and high frequency coils while the 30 only uses the mid.
