QUICK MXT QUESTION

YES It will detect Iron meteorites in all three modes with all coils that are designed for the MXT, but I think the best coil would be the 6X10 DD because of the high minerals in the soil that meteorites are found..

Thanks Hillbilly,i guess that was kind of a dumb question,:confused:call it a brain fart!!! i have been doing a hell of a lot of reading and research on different machines and that MXT sounds like best all around detector out there, i have read enough and talked to alot of people about it everything i found out about it, sounds, looks and feels pretty B.A. enough so, that i am getting one real soon, still trying to figure out who to buy from, any ideas would be appriciated. Thanks for the reply. H.H. 'Kevin'

It is a well made, reliable, and it works! It has a relatively easy learning curve for a metal detector that offers so much to the user...good depth of detection, good I.D., good selection of coils, good balance, and made by a company with an outstanding reputation of service. Kelley (Texas) :)

Any whites dealer will be competitive on the price. Kellyco might give you a better price because they buy in such bulk but if you have a dealer in your area it might be better to buy off them. That way you can get hands on service when buying and they can take care of any warranty problems that might acquire. Good luck & MXT RULES!!!

Kevin, Also the MXT is very good gold prospecting machine. And if your living in the state of Washington, I can tell you were your best chances of finding gold are. Let me know when you get your detector.:whites::clapping:

Thanks for the info Kelley,i have heard nothing but good things about the MXT,except for 2 posts, one person said it was too heavy  and the other one said it was to hard to learn:rofl: sounds like one real weak!!!and one with no patience or possibly just not enough smarts:confused: have you done any prospecting with yours ?if so how have you done if you don't mind me asking,im not trying to be nosey, just trying to learn as much as i can about the machine and the settings for different hunting modes. Any tips, tricks,or info would be greatly appriciated.I do plan on doing some prospecting. Thanks for the replys !!! H.H. 'Kevin'

Unfortunately, we have no gold down here in South Texas, but there has been a trace of gold found up in the Hill Country of Texas...past reports of gold in a few streams. I mostly hunt at old home sites, old camp grounds, and old sites on some of the ranches down here in South Texas...sites off the beaten path as a general rule.

It is my understanding that the MXT is very good when used for prospecting and you might want to search the Forum for folks with actual hands on experience using it for finding gold nuggets. Sorry that I can not be of help in this area of using the MXT.

As I posted earlier, the MXT does not really have a difficult learning curve, and it is fun to use. I wish you the best and hope that you find lots of treasure with it. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Hello, just bought an MXT myself back in March, mail order from Metal Detectors of Minneapolis. Good service, prompt delivery. There are no dealers local to me here in Michigan. This is my first and only detector, must say I am pleased so far. Not sure why people say its hard to learn, only has three knobs and couple of toggle switches. I have found that I use relice mode most often, though I have tried the prospecting mode by the river in some of the gravel bars. It will find some small stuff (no gold so far by the way).

Yes, the MXT does a really great job of finding meteorites. Use the Prospecting Mode for best results, and dig all signals. Most detectable meteorites are of iron/nickel composition, thus NEVER use discrimination when searching for them. The MXT is also a great nugget hunter, and, optimally tuned, can find nuggets as small as sesame seeds. When you get your MXT, I suggest two other items: really good headphones (such as the Koss/White's E-Series 9000's) and, give consideration to getting the 10x6 DD. Hope this helps; HH Jim
