Quick Hunt with ACE Yields Musket Ball and Old Railroad Button

I had a little time to check out a new site near my home and was disappointed. As I was getting ready to leave I dug this Phila' Rapid Transit Authority button (I reversed the back so you can see) and the musket ball in the same hole. I found this a bit odd. The coat size uniform button was worn by employees working for the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Co. and dates c.1900-1920. I would think the musket ball was at least 75 years older than that. The musket ball measures 16.7 mm which is smaller than the revolutionary war era balls I have found, which are all around 17.5 mm.
