Quick GB question

I recall reading that one should ground balance in a particular mode, but I can't seem to find any info. Please refresh my memory.

If you have an AT Pro, you want to be in Pro-Zero with iron audio on to be sure you're on clean ground. If you have the AT Gold, Disc 1 or all metal with iron audio on.

William,
Just yesterday and today I noticed that when I ground balanced the machine it didn't do anything!
No tone low or high tone.. Thought that was odd huh?
I usually manually GB anyway but still, no sound! Think the ground was just so neutral?
Florida here...

Pete

Pete- it seems like others in FL have had that issue. I think it was because there was so little mineralization. Sometimes you can manuallly set the GB higher or lower, then do an auto. Otherwise, I think they just set it around 15 (??).

15!
That would be for the beach. I always GB down low like that on the beach
but I was talking about inland...
I'll have to play around with it.

Wonder what I would set it at inland if I get no tone? Just leave it 99?
Weird huh?

Pete

Yes, 15 was at the beach. I don't know about inland - hopefully some other FL huinters will chime in.

i live in Florida Bradenton beach area, in the real dry part of the beach for me the machine will not GB. no noise, as i bob the coil up down in any mode, same problem if i go to any park . it will not GB, but in the wet sand or in the water it will GB.

Must be real Neutral ground!
